Putting Google text ads on my site has lead to a lot of cool stuff.

I' ve been putting google ads on all my pages including the poetry and essays I wrote in high school and college, and the most awesome links are coming up. I just found this morning an ad for a site where religious organizations can host their video streams online. And I found sites who perform all kinds of IT services for nonprofits. Click the Browse My Folders link to find them. Also contact me if you're interested in learning how to set up your own website. I am going to be putting together a class pretty soon on all the basics: html, css, and javascript.

I woke up with the words subway strategy stuck in my head.

So I googled subway strategy and found these links at the top. First is about a 19-year-old kid who campaigned for NY city council by riding the subways all day to talk to commuters. Just what I needed, another article to make me feel like a slacker. =) http://www.gothamgazette.com/searchlight2001/tail1.html The second article is Subway's franchise site. I had no idea they were the second largest fast-food chain in the world. Maybe that's the franchise I should start! http://www.subway.com/subwayroot/AboutSubway/subwayPressKit.aspx -- Darian Hickman http://www.darianhickman.com (703) 201-0524

video games are a great focusing tool.

I just got done playing Halo with my friend Craig and I now have all this intense focus to get things done, which is why I'm still writing emails and blogging at 2 in the morning. Why do video games help me focus? Any of you Cog Sci/Neuroscience/Psych majors got a good explanation? -- Darian Hickman http://www.darianhickman.com (703) 201-0524

Lesson Learned: Don't bother with online courses

Note to Self: Most of the value in going to school is forming relationships with other students and professors. Online classes piled on top of your already busy schedule just doesn't cut it. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: skippar@regent.edu Date: Sun, 14 Nov 2004 08:37:38 -0500 (EST) Subject: Dear New Testament Students: To: skippar@regent.edu Well our course is over. Thank you for participating. I have enjoyed reading your posts and interacting with you online, and I hope you have gained something from our studies that will help you on your way in the never-ending journey further into the deep things of God. I was a little concerned this morning when I looked at the exams and discussion boards and saw so much undone work. Please note that my recent amnesty announcement said, "Just make sure you have all your exams completed by the scheduled end-of-course date." According to the Assignments sheet that was November 13. Unless some prior arrangement ha
Here's an after boot camp picture. (August 2003) I didn't change much except I could eat a lot more.
Here's something I drew in the most stressed out period of my life, sophomore year of college, Fall 1998.
